Job Summary:
As a Front of House (FOH) Support team member, you are the face of our coffee shop, crucial for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Your primary role is to ensure the dining area is clean and organized, support the baristas and kitchen staff, and guarantee every guest has a pleasant and efficient experience from the moment they walk in until they leave. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greeting customers warmly, anticipating their needs, and thanking them as they leave.
- Cafe Maintenance and Cleanliness: Maintaining cleanliness in guest areas, clearing tables, stocking stations, and assisting with cleaning tasks.
- Operational Support: Assisting baristas with restocking food, collaborating with other staff, and communicating supply or equipment issues to management.
- Follows schedules and is compliant with daily/weekly.monthly checklists to complete all duties.
- Compliance: Upholding sanitary practices and complying with health and safety regulations.

- Understands & upholds The Mill's mission statement & guiding principles. Complies with all of The Mill's policies and procedures.
- Customer service experience is preferred but not always required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and strong organizational skills is important.
- Physical stamina for standing and performing tasks like lifting and cleaning is needed.
- Availability for flexible hours, including weekends and seasonally is required.
Position Summary:
The Part-Time Kitchen Support is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, organization, and sanitation. This role contributes to the overall efficiency of the kitchen by ensuring ingredients are prepped, supplies are stocked, and cleanliness standards are upheld. The Culinary Clerk works closely with other team members to maintain a smooth workflow and uphold the quality and consistency of food for The Mill.
Essential Job Functions
· Assist with basic food preparation (e.g., slicing, assembling, portioning).
· Prepare ingredients according to recipes and portion guidelines.
· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
· Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
· Organize and stock ingredients and supplies.
· Monitor inventory levels and notify the Kitchen Manager of shortages.
· Label and date food items to ensure freshness and compliance.
· Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage.
· Assist with baking or heating pre-prepared items as needed.
· Support the kitchen team during busy hours and special events.
· Follow all food safety and health department regulations.
· Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service.
· All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred.
- Valid Food Handlers permit.
- Strong knowledge of food and safety standards (e.g., ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain certification) required.

Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to indoor conditions. This position will primarily operate in a commercial kitchen setting located at The Mill. The employee will regularly be exposed to heat, humidity, sharp tools, hot surfaces, cleaning chemicals, various kitchen equipment, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can increase to a loud volume. This position requires availability to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and seasonally as needed to support kitchen operations and staffing needs.
