On the island of Ischia, off the coast of Naples, the Antonio Mazzella vineyard has been producing wines since 1940. Harvesting and pressing is still done by hand. Intense ruby red color with scents of violets. This one is dry and lighter-bodied with lots of acidity and tannins (meaning, drink with food!) and notes of dusty red fruits, violets, licorice, and a savory smokiness. (pairing with pizza)
